How to Recycle your Empty ZamiPet Packaging

At ZamiPet, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact, with a view to evolving our packaging to help keep it out of landfill and play our part in creating more sustainable outcomes.

Here's how you can recycle your empty ZamiPet packaging:

ZamiPet Supplements: Fully recyclable HDPE tubs & lids: when empty, add to your domestic recycling bin. ZamiPet Dental Sticks & HappiTreats®: Please see update on REDcycle soft plastics collection below. ZamiPet High Strength Probiotics+: Add empty carton to domestic recycling. For sachets, please see REDcycle update below.

APCO: leaders in development of packaging’s circular economy

ZamiPet is proud to be a member of the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO), a not-for-profit organisation leading the development of a circular economy for packaging in Australia. APCO’s vision, shared by ZamiPet, is to create a packaging value chain that collaborates to keep packaging materials out of landfill, retaining the maximum value of materials, energy and labour within the local economy.

As part of our collaboration, all ZamiPet products are clearly labelled with APCO’s standardised labelling system that provides clear and consistent on-pack recycling information to inform consumers of the correct disposal method at kerbside.

Soft plastics recycling program - update on REDcycle

Regrettably, the company behind REDcycle has been declared insolvent as of 27 February 2023 and is no longer operational. This impacts over 200 REDcycle partners, including ZamiPet.

The Soft Plastics Taskforce set up by the Federal Government, is working hard to identify pathways to reinstate collection systems for soft plastics around the country. ZamiPet welcomes the commitment of government and industry in developing Australia’s recycling and circular economy infrastructure to provide a reliable and scalable long-term solution for soft plastics recycling.

In the meantime, customers are being advised to dispose of any soft plastics in their domestic rubbish bin. The REDcycle logo will continue to appear on relevant ZamiPet products until such time as our packaging is updated or alternative measures are put in place.
