Why use Zamipet Probiotics for Dogs?

Pet parents recognise signs of gastrointestinal upsets in their dogs all too well: diarrhoea, loose stools and flatulence are unpleasant for both you and especially your pet.  A healthy digestive system (or gut) is key to your pet’s overall health and wellbeing. In fact, the gut comprises 70 per cent of the body’s immune cells. To understand the function of probiotics in supporting digestive and immune system health, we must first understand the role of a healthy gut microbiome.

Gut microbiome

Microorganisms (including bacteria, viruses, and yeasts) are present in huge numbers in the digestive tract of animals. This collection of microorganisms within the gut environment is known as the gut microbiome. To ensure efficient and effective digestion and absorption of food, the gut microbiome needs to operate in a balanced environment to provide the necessary nutrients to support a healthy immune system.

A microbiome in healthy dogs has three things in common:

  1. Lots of beneficial bacteria
  2. Diverse population of bacteria
  3. The right balance of bacteria

Beneficial bacteria versus bad bacteria

The bacteria present in the microbiome consist of both good and bad bacteria. Beneficial (good) bacteria help aid food digestion and keep levels of bad bacteria in check. Bad bacteria can be detrimental to your pet’s health if they leave the gut and enter the bloodstream, or if they dominate the bacterial population within the gut.

A balanced gut is a healthy gut

Signs of gastrointestinal upsets in dogs – or an imbalanced microbiome – are very common. A combination of Prebiotics, Probiotics and Postbiotics can help restore balance to the gut and prevent levels of bad bacteria overpowering beneficial bacteria.

This Zamipet product is a concentrated 7-strain Probiotic formula combined with Prebiotics and Postbiotics to help improve the microbial intestinal balance in dogs and support immune function and a healthy digestive system.

How Pre, Pro & Postbiotics work together to help your dog thrive

Think of the gut as a garden bed. Nurturing a garden with water and fertiliser benefits the entire garden including the soil, providing an ideal environment for the garden to grow and thrive.

Think of Prebiotics as the fresh water & natural fertiliser you feed your plants each day to help them grow & flourish (wtih symbol of watering can). Think of Probiotics as healthy plants in your garden, creating a diverse environment that attracts more beneficial insects & bacteria that will start improving the soil to benefit the entire garden (with symbol of plants in a garden). Think of Postbiotics as by-products of healthy plants like mulched leaves rich in organic matter. They return nutrients to the soil to nourish the entire garden & inhibit weeds (with symbol of mulched leaves and bag of compost).

Stability is key for Probiotics

Probiotics are living organisms that are highly sensitive to temperature and moisture so they must be carefully handled at every stage of development, including where and how they’re manufactured and how they’re packaged. The ability for a Probiotic to retain its health benefit (or efficacy) right to the end of its shelf-life is referred to as stability

The ZamiPet Difference

STABILITY OF FORMULATION:
Pure Biotics vs. mixed powders
  • Our formulation poses minimal risk to probiotic stability
  • Veterinary grade formulation manufactured in Australian GMP/TGA certified facility (Good Manufacturing Practice / Therapeutic Goods Administration)
  • Mixing probiotics with other active ingredients introduces additional variables which may impact probiotic count and survival, especially natural ingredients which can be detrimental to probiotic stability
DOSAGE ACCURACY

  • Sachet delivers accurate 1.2 g dose first time, every time
  • High risk of inaccurate dosage (too much or too little) when dispensing small quantities of powder with spoons or scoops
PACKAGING FOR EFFICACY & STABILITY
  • Packaged specially in sachets for efficacy and stability in a certified GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) facility
  • Sachets guarantee freshness, ensuring stability of the probiotics is maintained right to the end of the product’s shelf life
  • Tubs are regularly opened, exposing the live bacteria to humidity and oxygen, which can compromise probiotic stability
  • Some plastic tubs – such as those made from PET – can be detrimental to probiotic stability being permeable to moisture
CONVENIENCE
  • Single serve sachets are convenient and portable
  • Easy to tear open and pour
  • Tubs can be less convenient and portable, and require scoops or spoons to measure required dosage

Directions for Use

Mix one (1) sachet daily with meals or as recommended by your animal health professional. One sachet equals 1.2 g. Also suitable for puppies aged 8 weeks and older.

All dog sizes, one sachet of ZamiPet High Strength Probiotics+ Gut Health per day

Please note temporary digestive adjustment is not uncommon during the first week of probiotic use as your dog transitions to a healthier microbiome. If your dog experiences a tummy upset, stop providing the probiotics to your dog for 2 days to allow the gut to settle, and then commence again with half the recommended daily dose for 3 days, before increasing to the standard recommended dose thereafter. If symptoms persist, please visit your vet for further guidance.
